The Karabiner 98K is a manually-operated magazine fed bolt-action rifle. The magazine of the Karabiner 98K was a two-row, five round, internal box magazine with a detachable floor plate that could be loaded by stripper clip, or by filling the magazine one round at a time manually. The Karabiner 98K was a redesign of the original Karabiner 98 that was done in 1935, and the Karabiner 98K stayed in production until 1945.
